Parkitect early build available

Pre-Alpha 8 is out. Pathing to the side of entrances and exits is way cool. I am wondering where it was all my life! :) Some cool new rides as well as well as more scenery.

Certain victory.

Pretty cool update this week. Blueprints can now include anything. You can essentially save as much or as little as you'd like to blueprint files to share.

Guessing we'll see this in Build 9.

Been a while since I had a few moments to play with Parkitect. Now that you can save sceneray and everything in a blueprint, I wanted to play with that.

Emporium

It's a large building housing 10 stalls, two flat rides and a small kiddie mouse coaster. It's basically a fully functional mini-park in a building for under $15,000. Nothing too fancy, but more than functional.

Threw together a little something for the Log Flume build-off.

How is it you make those rocks look so good and every time I try to do something with rocks it looks horrible? ;) I am totally intimidated now to enter anything into that build off!

Honestly, I hate the whole rock thing (both in general and my cobbled together work here), but with the rules of this build-off what else is anyone going to do?

I wanted to just get it out of the way and give myself some time to try to come up with a little more unique approach.

Wow looking great, I can't wait for the $15 supporter version to come out so I can play to. I just wish I had a few extra bucks to get the Pre Alpha Access. Yea I got the money for that now but the fundraiser closed when I didn't have the money at the time and had to settle for the $15 version.

The next build update will add station synchronization...and you can sync any amount of stations anywhere in a park. So much potential. (they're also adding monorails and a new compressed save file format - read more here)

Glad to hear that they'll compress the files. I'm still on the fence about file sharing here, since it's clearly a solved problem elsewhere, but I wouldn't rule it out either.

Did you make that? Cause if so, your runouts are a little short.

:)

I thought the same thing, RCMAC.

I do find it interesting that my rules when I play games like this are different from other people's rules. I normally incorporate observations from real designs into my fantasy designs. A long enough runout at the bottom of a flume drop is one of those.

But my rules are not other people's rules, and rules were made to be broken. And it's just a game. And while I find it fun to try to make my designs real enough to be able to work if it were in the real world, other people just want to have fun.

Yeah, I'd have preferred longer runouts myself, but the contest has a footprint and compromises happen. It works within the rules of the game, so I can live with it.

And log flumes have needed more laterals for ages. :)

I tried to stick to the real world logic with the first one and quickly found the layout possibilities are limited because of the footprint allowed. I prefer the less realistic design by a long shot. You just got to decorate it correctly. That big drop into a turn with the little "viewing area" opening in the rocks is fun.

Probably not worth jumping in any more. Parkitect Nexus is pretty established and with the game moving to Steam, this adds the Steam Workshop.

The ability to upload to those two places directly from the game is coming:

I was just pullin' yer laig, I think BMAM is awesome and I can't wait to ride it one day.
And pull myself out of the cute viewing area because I flew out of the log at the bottom of the drop.

Both of Gonch's flumes are totally unrealistic. The logs are able to navigate the course, they float, and are being run with no seats roped off... Oh and the rides look like they would last more than six years. Totally unrealistic. 😜

But then again, what do I know?

Full disclosure. I swear I wasn't high when I made this one.
