Cedar Point settles EEOC suit over age restricted employee housing

Cedar Point will have to pay $50,000 after a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission found the amusement park discriminated against employees over the age of 40.

In my time, the "senior" employees mostly worked on the Frontier Trail. They stayed in apartments that were in the front of the Cedars. When they tore the Cedars down, for what ever reason they didn't make accommodations for those employees. Essentially someone dropped the ball on this.

As far as I know there were still other options for them, should CF has allowed it. The Bayside Apartments or the A-Frames should have been able to accommodate them if the needed a place that was "separated" from the younger staff.

When I was 18-22, last thing I wanted was to share my dorm building with 40 year olds.

Now that I'm in my 40's, last thing I want is to share my living quarters with 18-22 year olds.
