Playland ride closing for good following second fatality

The amusement park ride on which two people have been killed in three years will never reopen, Westchester County officials said Wednesday. The Mind Scrambler at Playland has been closed since the death of a park employee on June 29 and County Executive Andrew Spano decided it was no longer welcome, said park spokesman Peter Tartaglia.
