Westchester County buys rides at Rye Playland for $6 million

The Westchester County Board of Legislators voted unanimously last night to amend the capital budget and buy the rides for $6 million. The rides are all in place at the county-run amusement park in Rye, and are staffed and maintained by county employees. But leases and revenue-sharing agreements with outside owners leach away some of the profits.
