Patent developer Acacia Research Corp. said Tuesday that its Safety Braking Corp. subsidiary settled a patent dispute with Universal over the use of safety brake technology on amusement park rides. Neither side revealed the terms of the settlement.

It's interesting they would settle because it would seem that the ride manufacturers would be at fault for these sort of patent issues. It's also interesting which parks this company picked to sue. Darien Lake? Too bad we can't see more details on the case.

I'm going to patent writing with your right hand. Look out all you righties.

Patent disputes are out of control.

Is it that patent disputes are out of control, or that what you allowed to get a patent on is out of control. I always found it funny that the boxing announcer was allowed to patent the slogan "Let's get ready to rumble"

That's almost as bad as Trump trying to patent the phrase "Your fired"

Now that I think about it, I don't know if those are patents or copyrights, but either way, I thing they're funny.*** This post was edited by Jason Hammond 11/21/2007 12:06:46 AM ***

^A little bit of both. Patents are out of control in general.

It's a good thing that has been turned upside down and twisted beyond belief.
