The creators of the Hard Rock theme park, under construction in Myrtle Beach, S.C., will announce details today of the park's signature ride: a 150-foot-tall steel roller coaster with a Led Zeppelin theme. The looping attraction is one of more than 40 rock 'n' roll-themed amusements planned for the 140-acre theme park. It's scheduled to open in spring 2008.

I thought that it might be a Led Zepplin themed coaster when we saw the drawings of it in the forum thread. (Too many goofy negative arguments about a brand new park to comment in there though)

The question is, will there be music jamming throughout the ride through the headrests?

Over the hills and far away, Sounds good to me.

Isn't that computer generated image from No-Limits vs. something that Keith McVein (3DVip) usually creates (since he does it so well)?

I think there next ride should be an Intamin accelerator coaster (got the type name from RCDB), make it big like TTD and Kingda Ka and theme it to AC/DC-Highway to Hell.

But in seriousness, it looks/sounds like a fun ride. I also agree with DawgByte, that does look like a No-Limits image compared to a more advanced 3D rendering.

"Led Zeppelin are the icons of hard-rock music".

Which is like saying Lawrence Welk is the icon of champagne music.

Both with the same amount of appeal to today's youth.

Based on the conceptual drawings, it does not appear to be floorless.

If they have "Rock-n-Roll" blasting thru headsets, then I will never need to ride RnRC ever again....or at least until Disney *catches up*, musically...

Sure looks like NoLimits work to me.

I'm actually surprised at the number of kids who dig classic rock, especially since I was never that much of a fan. And I'm not talking about teenage burnout boys either, I'm talking about well-to-do straight-A teenage girls that I've coached. Kids never fail to surprise me.

It seems Zep, AC/DC, Aerosmith, and Pink Floyd are still popular with the kids who otherwise reject anything that's more than 5 years old. Well, and U2, but they've managed to come across on MTV as "not one of those old bands that my parents listened to."

I'll have to chime in along with Jeff on the kids and classic rock. My son (at 21) and a lot of his college friends enjoy listening to classic rock as much as their more modern music. Although I can say my son is not a big AC/DC or Aerosmith fan, he does like Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin and The Who.

It'll be playing "Whole Lotta Love".

It just has to be named "Stairway to Heaven".

Dropped my kids off at daycare yesterday and a little 4 year old girl had an AC/DC shirt on...

It just goes to show you that some bands create timeless music.

By the way, I was created in the parking lot of a Zepplin concert. I guess I should make a point to ride it some day.
