I"ve always thought the people who sold coupons to Six Flags for 99 cents and FastPasses on ebay were dumb, but the people who bought them are even dumber. In the case of stuff like this, why would you buy something and go through the effort when these items are given out for free and/or are expired? But, its like the age old question, "how many licks does it take to get the center of a tootsie roll pop?"... "The world may never know."

The Florida FP machines were recently swapped out---the new ones print dates in larger font. I'm guessing this went together with a renewed training emphasis on checking the date and not allowing those from prior days. There also is/was a test at Coaster and Tower limiting Rider Switch (aka "baby swap") passes to the day of issue only. Normally, they are undated so that you can use them later in a trip if need be.

You need a pass for baby swap? Isn't the baby proof enough that you're qualified to use it?

Brian, That is no test. That is reality. New rider switch passes were rolled out across the resort about a month ago. It also seems cast members are being instructed to only give them out to families with someone under the height requirement (for example if the kid is big enough to ride they can't get a rider switch since they can bring the kid through the line). Also only one cast member per attraction can give them out (where as cast members throughout the attraction used to have a stack). kpjb, At Disney you get a rider switch pass and that enables up to three guests (meant for the person watching the kid who is too short) to return via the FastPass line. You would be surprised with the number of people who try to use FastPasses from years ago - and they think they can get away with it (despite the passes looking completely different!). Disney has also redesigned the attraction re-entry pass (pass given out if you get stuck on an attraction) to make the expiration date larger and to move it from the bottom of the pass to the center of the pass (with it at the bottom people would just cut the expiration date off). Those new passes are also printed to say what attraction gave them out so in theory abuse of the system can be tracked.

This doesn't surprise me in the slightest, because I've actually done it. If you're going to be at the parks for multiple days, I'm not going to break my back to use a Fastpass on the day it's issued when I know they'll accept it a few days later when I return to that park. Obviously it's good that they're fixing this, but I am a little disappointed that I won't be able to have that luxury any longer...

I am surprised someone isn't offering counterfeit fastpasses.  All you need is a current fastpass, a scanner and photoshop and you can make fastpasses for any attraction, any day, any time.

Kick- People are making counterfeit FastPasses as well, in the article they talk about the perforated edges that are 'unique' to FastPasses.

Sorry for the hijack, but anyhow... so I get ONE rider switch pass and can use it for any attraction my son's too short for, or I need to get one at every attraction?

This makes sense. I had a feeling that a lot of those Rider Swich and Re-Entry passes on ebay were being skimmed by the Cast and sold by "friends" later.
